RE: What about working in State / Fed parks?

We have volunteered both in Tx and Or state pks. What are you wanting to know? So much to cover so if you could narrow the question. Both for us have pro's and con's.

RE: Oregon....favorite places to visit

Everyone has mentioned the good places. All of the coast on 101 is a must. Great lighthouses in OR to visit and so many state parks right on the coast to stay at. Have fun on your trip.

RE: bullard's beach

We volunteered there for several month last year and I would only stay in loop A. Go online and pull the map up. Look at sites on loop A about halfway down. Most of them are pretty open. About 6 to 10 sites down are around the play ground. Avoid unless you have kids or like kids. It is a good park and they have alot of activites. Great place to eat is the Brewed Awanking. Only say this because food (pizza) good. Have a great stay.

RE: Need advice on Civil War trip planning

Jamestown Settlement,in Richmond you need to go to St. John's Church (site of patrick Henry's speech Give me Liberty or give me death). Harry's Ferry and Antietam, New Market, Front Royal area. When you get to Gettyburg, take the guided tour and ask for Mike Vossler (great!!!)

RE: thousandtrails resorts

We are have TT and we use it. We were given a membership for the east when we purchased our motorhome. We upgraded to the national. I think you have to use the membership in order for it to be worth the cost. I think perhaps you were on another forum about the post on TT. In general alot of folks don't think much about it, so do. Since the parks are usually pretty well used I would say alot think it's a good program. If it were me and I only traveled weekends or once or twice a year I would not spend the money. Try passport america for that. That is what I think and I am sure others will give you what they think. C

RE: Is it just me? I hope not....Laundry Room question

Since you love it so much, why not come by our place and take ours. I hate going to laundromats. Only good one been in was in PA, they had this neat machine that you put all you wet clothes in and for 25 cents would really spin the clothes, so the dryer actually dried them without spending a ton in the dryer. I think we should all have throw away clothes just like paper plates!:B We usually have to go find a laundromat in town and not always the greatest shape or the cleanest. Found a brand new one and within a month it looked like it had been open more than a year. Cheryl

RE: Gate Locked at State Park

We have stayed in state parks across the US and have found for the most part all lock the gate at dusk or a little later during peak season. Always have been given the code at check-in. I think OR is the only state parks that did not have gates. OR did have stations but late at night no one there. Also found that alot of the corp parks do same. We did stay at a corp park in GA once and found no code, gate locked at 8pm by host and if you need in or out after that you have to contact the host to unlock the gate. Found that to be a pain as cell didn't work and had to walk in about 1/2 mile to host site, then back to get car. Cheryl

RE: DIRECTV or DISH network

Go with Direct. We had Dish and after so many problems took everything and threw it in the dumpster. Got Direct and no problems. Service is better, easy to set up especially in wooded areas. If traveling can still get both west coast and east coast feed if you want. We have both which makes it nice. With dish local service traveling is out from what I understand or very limited. As stated before, we too have seen folks works for hours with Dish and still walk away empty handed. C

RE: Campgrounds in the Houston area ??

Recommend MARINA BAY RV PARK in Clear Lake Area, not far from Laporte, we have stayed there twice and like the facilities and management, has free wifi and full concrete pads.. cost was reasonable when we stayed last year.. Good Luck with your search..

website

I had a website to locate rv parks by state. The computer crashed and I lost all information. I found the rv review site but what I am looking for is the one that you can look in each area of a state and get rv park information and locations. Any sugguestions for the lost site would be helpful. Thanks Cheryl
